I have done two installs of 8.2 on Intel machines... One with a 500mhz celeron and the 2nd with a 2.4ghz P4. In both cases the install picked a kernel compiled for an AMD athlon requiring that a recompile of the kernel be done before the install can be continued. Someone really screwed up.
