So, is there a SuSE RPM yet??? Did you have to uninstall 9.0 before installing 9.1? On Thursday 07 June 2001 21:53, Greek Geek wrote:

Download this: mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.9.1.tar.gz 1. mv /opt/mozilla /opt/mozilla.0.9 2. tar -zxvf mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.9.1.tar.gz 3. Start the browser as root to register the plugins. 4. If it works well for you then rm -rf /opt/mozilla.0.9 5. Go along your merry way and surf as you will :) Simple. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

As per Ben Rosenberg, I did the following (and it worked, I'm using Moz-Mail 0.9.1 right now): 1) Rename /opt/mozilla to something else 2) Download the sea mozilla-installer from www.mozilla.org 3) Run the mozilla-installer after untar/ungzipping the downloaded file. 4) Choose /opt/mozilla for the installation directory (or wherever you want it to go) 5) and you are done... kinda. I had to remove the /usr/X11R6/bin/mozilla link, and I created a new /usr/local/bin/mozilla script that contains the following text:
cat /usr/local/bin/mozilla #!/bin/sh cd /opt/mozilla ./run-mozilla.sh
This was because running a straight symlink to /opt/mozilla/run-mozilla.sh would not work -- you *had* to be in the directory that the run-mozilla.sh resides in or a "cannot execute ." error was generated. NOTE: Make sure you make the /usr/local/bin/mozilla script executable as well. Have fun, and good luck! -Steven PS: I have verified that there are javascript fixes in 0.9.1 since 0.9, and some of the web pages that had formatting problems in 0.9 are now fixed. They kicked butt!

You know the one where n guests are locked in a house with cameras for 9 weeks. Addictive. I load up the cameras by using realplayer direct. But a lot of the site doesnt work for me. dids

Ben, I totally agree with you! However, it seems a little slow to respond to mouseclicks. Both in the browser, and in Mail/News. Is it the same for you guys, or is it as snappy as Kmail for you?

It must be my system then. I, like you, really like Moz 0.9.1. But, for me, it's just kinda slow to respond to mouseclicks. I still like it enough though that I'm switching from Netscape/Kmail to Mozilla.

What windows manager do you use? When I switched from KDE to windowmaker mozilla improved in performance very much. -Kastus

I'm still using KDE 2.0.1, the stock 7.1 KDE. That's a good idea, I think I'll try another window manager. Ben, what's your WM?
