PROMPT_COMMAND='pwd>&6;kill -STOP $$' Since 5.3, whenever I execute history command, I see this command in my command buffer which I didn't typed. Can anyone tell me where it might come from and what it performs if I accidentally execute it? In my case it meant I was using the incorrect module for my NIC. Bill Moseley mailto:moseley@hank.org -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

This is a command that is probably run in /etc/profile to set how the command prompt looks. For example, on my computer the prompt looks like: chris@respc-csr2:~ > This will be different for your computer. Actually, this is used by mc for the same purpose. To verify this, type 'mc' then C-o (C=Ctrl) then hit the up key. `david' -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
