One thing definetely, the YaST is a commercial program which can not be copied without the written permission from SuSE. But for all freewares
Are you sure? , this is important, if I install suse distribution on several machines, including having YaST on each of these machines, to me this is the same as copying YaST on several machine.
This is my question, am I allowed to do this?
You are allowed to do this. YaST is commercial, and there a no sources free available for YaST. But you can use on as many machines you want to. You are not allowed to resale it. The only thing on the CDs which is licenced software is the LNX database. There are several other 'non free' or 'non GPL' programms on the CD, most of them in the 'pay' series. If are confused what is legal to copy and give away and what not, look at our ftp site (ftp.suse.com). All packages you'll find there are freely distributable.
