An external disk, formatted exfat, perhaps, would work very nicely to exchange files between OSes or computers.
I stick to ntfs, it works better across different things. As an example, my TV's don't work with exfat but do with ntfs.
That is true, I have one tv tuner, brand new, that doesn't do exfat :-( However, the exfat support in Linux I think is better than ntfs. It is documented by M$, maybe even opened.
Small, rotating rust disks, can be purchased quite cheap nowdays.
I carry 2 with me when I travel. A 2TB and a 5TB. The small one for music and videos, plugs into the USB connector on a TV, and the larger one for the latest, encrypted, backups. I have another set that's off-site.
For travel I prefer SSD, more robust to vibrations. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from oS Leap 15.2 x86_64 (Minas Tirith))
