Have anybody used one of the printers that can print on a CD under Linux to print on a CD?
I am interested in buying a printer specifically for this purpose.
I assume that it comes with special software for Windows and Mac to print on a CD, but do you need to send the printer special instructions to print on CD or does it work the same as printing on paper? (Just a matter of getting your layout correct)
Not a CD printer, but interesting anyway. Check out LaCie LightScribe.

I was expecting it to be more expensive, but I see it's $79.
k3b has support for LightScribe, AFAR
I think you have to buy their CD media for this to work.

Yes. LightScribe Media 20 pack DVD+R 8x = $29.99 Not that bad. And you use LaCie media only when you want to make a presentable labeled DVD. Otherwise, regular DVDs and a permanent marker.
