Minimizing an open window
Dear Reader, I wonder why every window that I minimize ends up being lost, whereupon I need to relaunch the application's window once more. For some reason, my SuSE, SuSE Pro 9.0 running KDE, does not display a taskbar as on the Mac or Windows. Any ideas? Thanks. Sam __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sam Sam, did you ever have a taskbar (it's called a 'panel' in KDE)? If so you may have inadvertently hid it on yourself. Look for a small grey bar with a tiny blue triangle on it in one of the corners of your screen. If you see one, click it. If you have never had a panel, which would be very odd, start up KDE Control Panel and choose 'Desktop' from

On the kicker panel configuration, hiding tab, if "Show panel when the pointer touches the screens X" is checked; you may never see the panel even tho it is available. Uncheck it and ur panel will become visible. I have found this checked before -- and I don't think I did it myself...but I am still learning. Alt-F2 then kcontrol will bring up the Control Center, in case you can't get to the applet to configure it from your desktop. -- 73 for now & Adios from Texas! Right click on the bottom bar and add the applet called taskbar. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
