[opensuse] Too slow file operation in 11.4

To and from which kind of disk, what filesystem and information displayed by hdparm -i /dev/sdX where X is the source and/or destination drive and the contents of /proc/mounts are needed to help. And? <grin> Did you copy the file manually bit-by-bit? </grin> Problems with HW? Problems with F.S. ? Problems with overal system load? Problems reading? Problems writing?
