ISTR something about an environment variable SLOPPY_LOCK or similar, which some have reported success with.
It sounds like this antivir is basically a curiosity - OTOH if your system is a server to windows clients, then there is a need for AV- but clamscan is better suited to scripted checks, and samba has hooks into clamav for real time "on access" scanning, so that's probably your best bet anyway.
Yes Joe it runs. No it's not a server. It's a workstation. Maybe I shall migrate to clamav. -- Venlig hilsen - Best regards - Erik Jakobsen Licensed HAM-RADIO with the callsign OZ4KK http://www.urbakken.dk Registered Linux user #114875 with http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Are you realy sure you want that? Just clamav? Test showed that antivir was one of the better (not THE best) scanners. I've been doing also some tests, and clamav only detected 60% of a virus population, while antivir got over 95%... Still not 100%, but for that you seed several filters cascaded... hw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

(might even the message is still there when i run mercury, the messenger that could not connect to the server, i would have to look, when i start from shell, but after it worked, i called the app from Alt+F2..) And why would you change to a lesser app, just because of an error message anyway? - -- Have a nice day, M9.
