Yet, another wireless nic question...which one should I get?
My wife's been bugging me to "get the damn wires hidden!" I say, it's really hard to unless we go wireless. "Fine! Do it!", she says. He, he, he.....SCORE! So, since my plan has worked this far, I need to carry it to the end. I was down at Compusa today and was looking at the Linksys wpm54g wireless nic. I tried to look up some stuff on the card first and didn't find anything that was optomistic. Question: Is anyone using this card with 9.0? If not, what card are you using? My wife is running XP (work's laptop) so it will work with anything, but I'm going with the Linksys pcmcia card. Any thoughts? I'd like to stick with a G card if possible. Thanks, Tom

That reminds me of how I got my first modem. Back in the days, when I had an IMSAI 8080, my wife dropped into my office, where I maintained mini computers. I showed her the "Adventure" game on a VAX 11/780. After a while she got hooked on it and asked if she could run it on my computer. I said no, but if we had a modem... I was soon the proud owner of a 300 baud manual modem! ;-)

I think that will work for you Tom. I use the Netgear wag614 (all the same features Plus it already knows about Dyndns.org), and it was cheaper after rebates. I run 8.2, and I used the drivers from linuxant.com. The $19 saved me a lot of dicking around. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
