I must need some java plug-ins to Netscape (the version that comes with Suse 7.0--4.7xx. I don't know what they are, or how to get them, but a lot of sites are not fully accessable. (Microsoft, sharperimage . . . .) 2. I know I have Konqueror (sp) on the machine, because if I get an email with an Internet address in it, and I snap on the address, a browser comes up, which is not Netscape. I assume it is konqueror, or Konqueror. I cannot figure out how to bring this up from the K prompt. If I try to call up an Internet connection, I get a message that I have to configure a dial-up account. I don't dial up, I am always on. So what now? Netscape and Kmail work fine. Well, Netscape _doesn't_ work fine, that's the problem--I don't care about Konquerer (sp?) if Netscape works fine. Aamof, I would like very much to put Konq... out to pasture and make the standard browser Netscape. I just don't know how. Let me have NS 4.7x with all the plug-ins, and yes, I know it's slow, but it works. Forget NS 6.0. I've seen it in Windows. What crap! <p>3. If I call an Internet dns from an email, the Konqueror browser comes on, but it needs the java stuff also. So: Could some kind reader of these words tell me: a: how to access Konqueror without having a dialup number b: what Java plug-ins I need, where to find them, and how to install them, for Netscape, mainly, and/or for Konqueror.

Unless you are running KDE 2 (default for me was KDE 1.1.2) you aren't seeing Konqueror, but the older kfm, which while it works pretty good, does lack some browsing functionality. But to open it (kfm) straight up, click on the third icon from the left of the toolbar along the bottom... the one that looks like a folder w/ a house on it. Then go up the Location: spot, where it lists the directory '/home/yourusername' and delete that and enter the url you want. Or press Cntrl+O and enter the url there.
b: what Java plug-ins I need, where to find them, and how to install them, for Netscape, mainly, and/or for Konqueror.
Dunno. Haven't needed them. Open Netscape, go to Edit-Preferences-Advanced and make sure that Java and Java Scripting is enabled. That makes a big difference. Monte <p>>
