Unless you are running KDE 2 (default for me was KDE 1.1.2) you aren't seeing Konqueror, but the older kfm, which while it works pretty good, does lack some browsing functionality. But to open it (kfm) straight up, click on the third icon from the left of the toolbar along the bottom... the one that looks like a folder w/ a house on it. Then go up the Location: spot, where it lists the directory '/home/yourusername' and delete that and enter the url you want. Or press Cntrl+O and enter the url there.

b: what Java plug-ins I need, where to find them, and how to install them, for Netscape, mainly, and/or for Konqueror.

Dunno. Haven't needed them. Open Netscape, go to Edit-Preferences-Advanced and make sure that Java and Java Scripting is enabled. That makes a big difference. Monte <p>>
