I did it ! Works fine now. Now for the reverse direction: Can I reboot my computer toward Win by using a properly written grub commandline ? Robert

Not sure whether grub would do that or not but I *do* know that you want linux to do a proper shutdown and sync all the drives in the process. Just whipping off to XP-land via a grub command would not be wise. And on the other side of the coin, I would assume that Windows would also want to be properly shutdown. Not sure you're doing yourself any favors here... -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
