Deskzilla - Bring Bugzilla to your desktop
I recently came across this: www.deskzilla.com. Will it work with openSUSE's Bugzilla?

Yes, it's working - I just tested it. Seems to be a really nice product. Too bad that it's not open sourced! Regards Christoph

Just read the upper lines. It's just Bugzilla what is being used. -- Víctor Fernández Martínez Gabinete de prensa de PoLinux [www.polinux.upv.es]. Usuario de Linux registrado #312284 en http://counter.li.org.

Donald, if I am not seriously talking through my hat: Bugzilla is the software used by big projects like Mozilla, openSUSE etc to keep track of their bugs to allow people like us to file bugs, etc. We do not download Bugzilla or anything like that. We only login to the Bugzilla-site of Mozilla, Novell etc, which means the server on which Mozilla, Novell etc have installed the Bugzilla software. Then we submit the bugs and logout. That's about all the involvement you and I are going to have with the software called Bugzilla. The software Bugzilla is being developed by the Mozilla Foundation. Novell and other people like Novell license it (there's a paid+supported and unpaid+unsupported version IIRC) to install Bugzilla on their servers. Deskzilla is a software which is developed by this new company (didn't notice its name) which allows one to access any Bugzilla server on the net where you have an account (yes you have to register to report bugs, else people would spam) and display to you all the bugs on your desktop, which saves you the trouble of slogging through the web interface of Bugzilla. I hope this is clear and helps. P.S: The third Zilla - Mozilla - I need not explain to you, and certainly not the fourth (first?) Zilla, Godzilla! ;) -- Shriramana Sharma http://samvit.org (o- Penguin #395953 //\ running on ancient Indian wisdom V_/_ and modern computing efficiency
