Hi, Anyone else using the latest NVidia drivers (1.0-2960) noticed problems with dropping from X to the consoles? When I hit CTRL-ALT-F1 for example to drop to tty1, I get a corrupted view of the console. I'm clearly at it, and I could type, but it's well munged! If I hit ALT-F7 it takes me back to X ok... Anyone else noticed this? I tried your test and both of these machines worked fine. It could be some weird setting in your XF86Config file. I know that when I updated to this revision..I got weird problems at home so I copied my config file from work to my home machine as they both have nVidia TNT2 cards and Sun 21' monitors..it worked fine after that. I am still not sure what caused the issue at home..didn't have time to find out. I had to much work to do. If you figure this out..please post it. -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. -GC --=====-----=====--

I use the latest NVIDIA drivers too and switch regulary from tty's to X. I don't have any problems at all. My graphic card is a GeForce2 MX400. And this is the parts of my XF86config who deals with my card : Section "Module" Load "type1" Load "speedo" Load "extmod" Load "freetype" Load "glx" EndSection Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "CheckDesktopGeometry" DisplaySize 310 230 HorizSync 22-72 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "1280X1024@60HZ" Option "DPMS" VendorName "--> VESA" VertRefresh 50-120 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection Section "Device" BoardName "GeForce2 MX/MX 400" BusID "1:0:0" Driver "nvidia" Identifier "Device[0]" Screen 0 VendorName "NVidia" EndSection Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Layout[all]" InputDevice "Keyboard[0]" "CoreKeyboard" InputDevice "Mouse[1]" "CorePointer" Option "Clone" "off" Option "Xinerama" "off" Screen "Screen[0]" EndSection Hope it helps...
