Has something happened to the SuSe linux 91pro patch download? Recently, the d/l speeds are under 5kb/s - they had been at least double and often triple? For a while I thought it was my cable modem but other sites are the usuual speeds [10 - 15 kb/s]. To add insult to injury the d/l of kernel-default was halted [twice] mid-download! Is it the Novell influence? -- Cheers, Serge [Naggar Consulting]

It depends; probably you are on suse.com itself, or using a mirror hosting the 10.0 beta/RC stuff as well! I really don't think, that this issue is 9.1 specific; I used to mirror all updates 9.0 - 9.3 and all of them became recently slow, even on various mirrors... Pelibali

Yes, you've got it. As part of its ongoing campaign to get rid of all users, Novell recently ordered all services mirroring the suse packages to cut bandwidth to nearly nothing. Or not 10.0 release candidate is up and is being downloaded extremely heavily, I usually get 300-400K/s from gwdg.de, lately it's been down to bytes per second. Find a better mirror.
