This is on a new installation from scratch using lprng with the /etc/printcap configured by hand. When I run kprinter, or from within konqeror select Print, the printer dialog box just locks up. I also tried kprinter from the command line with --system lprng and --system lpd, neither option changed the results. Has anyone else had any trouble with kprinter? It says it is version 3.2.1 of KDE version 0.0.1 of kprinter. I have used YOU and am current with the available updates. Greg Engel

I just did a fresh install of 9.1 to my Compaq Laptop in which I use a cups remote printer. Going through kprinter worked perfectly fine without any diddling at all. ra
