I'm running SuSE 6.2 at work and just added a Tekram DC-395U scsi controller. My drives are differential drives so I'm using a SCSI-2 Rancho card to convert to differential. Just about every thing is working except when I boot-up I get a couple of messages that concern me. I get multiple instances of the same 2 messages. 1. IRQ timeout select (about 8 times in a row) 2. <6> Arbitration failed but reselection win. When I look at /var/log/messages, message #2 is all over the place. As I said it looks like everything comes up ok. The only "symptom" I have is with netscape while viewing large text files or large pages that require a lot of scrolling to get to the bottom. During the scrolling process it seems that the system will hang but the disk is thrashing about like crazy. If I wait long enough the system will start responding again and I can continue on. This sounds like a swap problem and I'm not sure it isn't but the only thing loaded is KDE/Netscape/Linux into 64mb ram. Anybody got any ideas?????? Thanks. I also get these messages but the system seems to run fine. On Mon, Apr 03, 2000 at 05:44:20PM -0500, Mark Hounschell wrote:
