procmail fetchmail problems: Connection refused (port 10024)

Hello!
I've just installed my first server and I would like
to use it to collect all my mails from different
locations .
My first problem is with fetching the messages. First
of all I tried to configure it for only one mail
address in the intranet I belong.
Red some resources on the net I tried to configure
fetchmail, but I can not deliver the mails after
fetching them.
As a guideline I have used the webpage
http://www.webthatworks.it/docs/howto/f-p-sa-pm.asp
(I've found it's link in the archives).
I can send messages from my computer, but I can not
download them. (The test procmail & fetchmail fails)
I thought also that my MUA is missconfigured, but
yesterday with a ~/.fetchmailrc I could get and read
my messages.
First I configured everything with YAST, after I've
tried to reconfigure it by hand. So also amavis was
running, but I stopped it to follow the guidelines of
the webpage.
The name of my computer is: viktor-srv.rajk.bke.hu,
while the mailserver is rajk.rajk.bke.hu as an alias
of novell.rajk.bke.hu.
I dont have any ~/.forward, ~/.procmailrc,
~/.fetchmailrc files. (I renamed them to make the
config process as it is said at that before mentioned
webpage.)
Thanx,
V

IIANM, amavis uses port 10024. You stopped amavis, so when your mail gets to 10024, there is nothing there to get it. restart amavis and see if you can receive mail. I don't believe that stopping amavis was necessary to test your settings. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
