We recently had a question about making copies of 8.2 CD's to give away not for profit. I have a similar, and perhaps ignorant question... I purchase the SuSE 8.2 Pro boxed set from SuSE. I installed it on my system from the DVD and I'm very happy with it. My nephew, a college student, is going to be buying a system I used to use at work and I'm wondering if I can install 8.2 Pro on there also, or if that's contrary to license. I found and read the license, and it mostly deals with mods to YaST2 and stuff like redistribution. I'm just wondering how many machines I can legitimately put it on. I know the GPL and probably SuSE allows for an arbitrary number of systems, but there is still a question about the software like MainActor and any other proprietary software. Is there someplace on the site that covers questions like this? Thanks!

Have Fun, Jim -- James McBoyle james.mcboyle.cp.net "...the Goddess could not spend all Her time persuading the Kings and Queens of the world of the idiocy of war. Therefore She invented tacticians..." (Diane Duane. The Door into Shadow) you can do this without problems, you have bought the boxed set, and can use the purchased media to install as many boxes as you like.

Okay, that's cool. Do you know if that also applies to the proprietary stuff like MainActor? I guess w/o a separate notice of license, it should...
