ok. I might try to report a routing issue to my provider. Although last time I did I was just told to fix my own tunnel. Which provider? ISP or tunnel broker? You can try traceroute for both IPv4 to the tunnel broker and also IPv6 for the actual IPv6 traffic. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Sorry, just read the traceroute. It appears the problem is with the IPv6 route. However, the problem may lay outside the tunnel broker. I see several organizations on that traceroute. One other point, the problem may be on the return path to you, rather than from you to the site. Either way, traceroute will fail. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I have problems. I have added 130.57.66.6 forums.opensuse.org 195.135.221.134 download.opensuse.org to "/etc/hosts". That seems to result in IPv4 connections to those hosts. Without that, attempts to use the forums time out with konqueror, though they work with firefox. It seems that firefox remembers that it last used IPv4, and keeps using that. Konqueror just times out and does not drop back to IPv4 (or it did when I last tried). IPv6 connections to the download site are fine. However, it's "mirrorbrain" always gives me bad mirrors if I connect with IPv6. It seems to not do geolocation for IPv6. I have not have problems with other opensuse sites (yet). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I doubt it. My IPv6 is from my ISP (AT&T), though it does use a 6rd tunnel to the router that they provide. I just use the router and get an IPv6 address without having to do anything special.
Try a traceroute6 to the site and post the results.
traceroute6 '2600:806:310::100' traceroute to 2600:806:310::100 (2600:806:310::100), 30 hops max, 80 byte packets 1 2602:306:3afd:56b0::1 (2602:306:3afd:56b0::1) 8.024 ms * * 2 * * * 3 * * * ... 30 * * * That's the IPv6 address for "forums.opensuse.org". It seems that I cannot use the name with that "/etc/hosts" entry -- traceroute6 just gives a weird error. With "download.opensuse.org", if I directly ask for mirrors, it says that I am in an unknown country and it suggests mirrors in places such as Bangladesh. This isn't a big problem for iso downloads. I use "aria2c" and it quickly finds better mirrors. But normal online updates from the mirrors tend to be slow. If I force an IPv4 address with that hosts entry, I get decent mirrors and often use IPv6 to connect to the mirrors. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Try a traceroute6 to the site and post the results. I bet you're failing at the same point as Klaus. Given that I have no problem with the site, it's likely the next router beyond the last one you get a response from doesn't have a route back to you. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I can confirm that it often takes a lot of time to log in in any of these openSUSE websites that need authentication via attachmate. I have a native IPv6 connection, so the default is to connect via IPv6. After canceling the authentication and trying again it often works immediately.
