I'm setting up a home network, and shortly will be incorporating broadband, rather than this annoyng 56K modem... And I've run across a stumbling block I'm hoping people can help me with. I open Konqueror and click on "LAN Browser". I get the error "The lisa daemon dos not appear to be running. In order to use the LAN Browser the lisa daemon mst by installed and activated by the system administrator." Okay. So I go into YaST and check to see that Lisa is installed. It is. I note in the box at the bottom of the screen it says, "This services can be used in konqueror by using the URL "lan://localhost". You can set the variable USE_LISA to "server" in YaST sysconfig editor, if you want to offer this services to all your local clients." Okay... It sounds like I need to run a Lisa server on any box I wish to share. I can do that. So I go into the yast sysconfig editor, go to desktop -> KDE -> Lisa and I find the variable "USE_LAN_SERVER". Not quite the same as "USE_LISA", but I can work with it for now. In the descritption it tells me I have four settings that it can be set to: Defines how to use the default network browser "none" = do not create a Network icon on desktop "smb:/" = use plain smb only client, without lisa "local" = use local installed reslisa "$SERVER" = any server where a lisa daemon is running and allows remote connections Only when I go to try to change the settings, I don't see $SERVER as an option. What am I doing wrong? Krikket
