15.4 Beta - libreoffice-calc opens maximized, crashes when maximize removed, writer - okay
All, Fresh install of 15.4 Beta and libreoffice. All apps, writer, calc, etc.. open full-screen on first run. Writer can be un-maximized (restored) without any issue, but attempting to restore calc crashes. The crash occurs regardless of whether you use the restore button (top-right titlebar next to close) or use the window menu (top-left titlebar and uncheck the "maximize" options) Before I write a bug on it, can somebody else confirm the behavior? -- David C. Well, This turns out the be a real bug, with a real work-around. On first use, if you launch calc from the libreoffice-calc icon that is installed with LO is installed, it launches full-screen and crashes when you try and un-maximize the window. However, if you launch the parent app "libreoffice", it will launch without full-screen and you can then launch calc from within it. All is fine from that point on. You can then launch with libreoffice-calc and it will launch without being full-screen. You can then maximize-restore just fine without a crash. Don't know how the hell you track this bug down since it only occurred when first launched from the libreoffice-calc menu entry. After you launch from libreoffice, whatever caused the crash (missing entry in the config dir, etc.) is no longer a problem. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
