That's not the one. It is one without the .src. in it.

Ignore my ignorance, but all the files in in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.0/suse/src have the .src.rpm extension in it. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yes :-) It will be in .../i586/ or roundabouts. The kernel-source you need is not a typical sources rpm, but it is treated as a binary rpm. It is an exception, it is in the same directory as the binary rpm (k_deflt.rpm, etc), and it doesn't install on the same place as *.src.rpm do - nor is it compiled the same way they are.
