Get Linux newsfeed from Windows SBS 2003?
Hello, I need your help for setting up a newsfeed from inn SuSE Linux 7.1 to SBS 2003. Despite numerous attempts I cannot get the old postings from SuSE Linux onto the SBS 2003 newsserver. I still have access problems. I would like to migrate the old postings from SuSE Linux onto the new Window Small Business 2003 newsserver. The Windows Small Business 2003 newsserver is up and running. I can post messages there. I configured on SBS 2003 a pull-newsfeed (peer-to-peer) with the name of the Linux Server. Is it sufficiant to authenticate as any known linux user or do I have to use a special one? E.g. user news? Some time ago I succeeded in getting the old news from SuSE Linux 7.1 to our Slox Server via the package "suck". However, Slox is now replaced by SBS 2003. I configured the same things that back then worked for Slox for our SBS 2003: - added the SBS 2003 to /etc/news/newsfeeds - added the SBS 2003 to /etc/news/nnrp.access (Read und Post rights) - added the SBS 2003 to /etc/news/innfeed.conf den Server as peer Whenever I activate the newsfeed on the SBS 2003 server (as User administrator), I get the following errormessages in the /var/log/news/news.err: Apr 4 12:52:34 linuxserver nnrpd[4324]: read_udp: recv Connection refused Apr 4 12:52:34 linuxserver nnrpd[4324]: sbs2003server.firma.local actived socket couldnt be read AYTACK Connection refused Apr 4 12:52:36 linuxserver nnrpd[4324]: sbs2003server.firma.local NOT using actived result: Up to now the SBS 2003 only got the newsgroup folders but no messages! Thanks for your support. Best regards, S.J.
Hi Can anyone tell me how to access the innd news server. Thru putty i can telnet to localhost 119. However if i want to telnet to the same server on e.g. telnet peter 119 i get 502 you have no permission to talk The same occurs when i want to connect thru outlook and or thunderbird (the windows version) Both machines are about 50 cm apart and i can send or receive mail from the same linux server some snippets from my config ## $Id: inn.conf.in,v 1.57 2003/02/03 00:58:26 rra Exp $ ## ## inn.conf -- INN configuration data ## ## Format: ## <parameter>:<whitespace><value> ## ## Blank values are allowed for certain parameters. ## ## See the inn.conf(5) man page for a full description of each of these ## options.
