It's a long story that I won't belabor except to say that that I'm among the unfortunate with a SiS 6326 graphics chipset and waited for SuSE 7.0 and XFree86 4.0 to really try to get off a command-line interface on my Linux box (4.0 is supposed to support the SiS 6326). Now I'm having problems with SaX2 and my patience is running out. Here's the immediate problem: After running SaX2, when I go to start X, I get a "Fatal server error. Caught signal 11. Server aborting." I have little clue as to why this is happening. There are some warnings in the X server log file concerning invalid file paths for font files. Knowing that the directories changed with XFree86 4, I deinstalled everything to do with X and then reinstalled taking care that I was getting only 4.0. Incidentally, when I upgraded to SuSE 7.0, it was a clean install on a re-formatted HD. My X server logfile is attached. Help, please! TIA, Peter Hollings
