I've recently upgraded to 7.1 (actually did a fresh install) and generally it's
great! I have a question (actually a few but one at a time...) about startup
in KDE2. In KDE1 you could control what programs start when KDE starts by
putting 'shortcuts' in the startup folder, but I can't seem to get that to work
in KDE2, and there is no mention in any of the help, either local or on the kde
and suse sites. I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but I'ld really
appreciate it if someone could point it out to me!

Thanks. I figured it was simple. A followup, question. KDE seems to have
remembered several programs I've started and starts them when it loads, even if
I close the programs before exiting KDE. How do I tell it to *only* start the
programs in Autostart?
Thanks again.

When you log out make sure that you uncheck the "restore" option in the logout menu. Hope it helps, _____________ Alvaro Novo SuSE 7.1 -=- Kernel 2.4.2-4 -=- KDE 2.1 6:05pm up 3 days, 2:05, 2 users, load average: 0.03, 0.06, 0.03
Bring up the properties of the Autostart folder and note the 'points to'
entry. Bring up the KDE control center and go to the Look & Feel/Desktop
tab. Verify that the Autostart path matches the one of the Autostart
folder. In my case they were not the same which caused the links I put in
the folder to be ignored.
