[opensuse] Kmail question
Hi all, When I upgraded to 12.1 I could not get Kmail to read my mail dir and had to start all over. But there is some data I really could use from one of these dir. Is there a way that I can force Kmail to read it or do you'al have another suggestion. Thanks! JIM -- Check out my stamp & postcard collection! Yankee GO HOME! Hi JIM. In the new Kmail just go to the "File" and somewhere down you find "Import Messages" That will produce a new program which is self explanatory. With this program I got all my messages back from an old Kmail without problems. You just have to know where the messages you want to import can be found. Check carefully that you got all mails. I tried it and it failed for the mbox files in a mixed mbox/maildir-kmail folder structure. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This is how I got my mails back: 1. I openened the mails with a kmail version older than from KDE 4.7 and exported them via the kmail exporter. 2. On the new system I imported the mails. The kmail upgrade is horribly broken. Especially long-term users were punished because the old mail file structures cannot be read. After a complete restart it works reasonably weil. I'm not *that* lame. There is nothing on my File menu which says Export. Import, yes. Export, no. KDE 4.6, KMail 1.13.6 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
