is your kernel in /boot, or on / ? make sure lilo is pointing to the partition with the kernel on it.
for instance, on my system, hda1 = /boot hda2 = swap hda3 = / so, lilo points to hda3 to boot from

I had a similar problem with Tekram UW controller. I installed lilo on a diskette with the only option to boot linux --> works fine. This is lilo.conf i used to create the diskette: --------------start------------ boot = /dev/fd0 # or your root partition delay = 10 # delay, in tenth of a second (so you can interact) vga = 0 # optional. Use "vga=1" to get 80x50 image = /vmlinuz # your zImage file root = /dev/sda1 # your root partition label = Linux # or any fancy name read-only # mount root read-only -------------------------end------------------------- your milage may vary... -alexm - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
