Please post your working smb.conf.
I have had problems also, as there are some newer hooks that need to be adjusted since NT SP3 ...
Thanks! -tks-

We have a 80-machines network with a primary (NT 4.0) domain server, DNS+DHCP+Apache on a Linux Server and many, many 95 & NT (as well as some Linux) hosts...

The domain server (password server) is a NT host called 'Neptune'. It's Samba v1.9.16p11 with S.u.S.E. 5.0 and suse-kernel 2.0.33 . This smb.conf doesn't contain many smart moves, but it's a good example configuration, I believe... I added some comments to try and make it clear to everybody; if there's still something that looks weird to you, just ask me - it'll be a pleasure to help you out !! Anyway, take a good look (and some time ;-) ) at the man page:
man smb.conf I'll send you a more complex configuration (another LAN) later (this afternoon or tomorrow). Have a nice day ! Pascal (pbleser@prov-liege.be)
