Hi, Yesterday, when i tried to login as a user (oguz) to Suse 8.1, it said ".... unable to read ICE Authority" The detailed error message is at the bottom. Then i deleted user oguz & recreate it. But then, when i tried to login, i now get different errors : "gnome-settings-daemon has crashed due to a fatal error" I get this error several times, but gnome opens after it. Now i can't delete the user anymore. Yast says : "You cannot delete this user, because the user is present. Please logoff the user first" I get no errors when i create new users with different names. But if i name it oguz, problems occur. I login as root with no problems. I use Suse 8.1 with gnome (2.x) and use gdm as display manager. Here's the detailed error message, but since i deleted the user, i don't get it now : Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or you may be out of diskspace. Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix the problem. When i click "view details" (that's taken from ~/xsession-errors file), it says : /etc/opt/gnome2/gdm/PreSession//Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp /etc/opt/gnome2/gdm/PreSession//Default: running: sessreg -a -w /var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x "var/lib/gdm/:0:xservers" -h "" -l :0 oguz **(gnome-session: 1006):Warning **unable to read ICE Authority TIA,
