Thank You Michael Dell. Some time ago I suggested that the biggest and most immediate fall out of Dell deciding to offer Linux, (anybody's linux) would be the proprietary chipset manufacturers finally deciding that they could no longer ignore linux. It would seem that there may be some movement on this, or at least hints of movement: http://www.0xdeadbeef.com/weblog/?p=288 -- _____________________________________ John Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Actually, a few years ago, Compaq (HP) was shipping Linux on some models, but dropped it due to lack of demand. I do understand that they do ship some models with Linux in some European, South American, and Asian markets. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
