Hi everyone, Well, I went to BestBuy today (for reasons other than to buy SuSE 7.1), but even though I've complained numerous times about price, and has insisted I was going to wait for the ISO's - I bought 7.1. As I went in the store I told myself "Self: you aren't going to buy this, you should be economical, wait a few weeks, and get the ISO's", then a little later I told myself "Self: you are going to buy the personal edition, but you do not need the professional edition", needless to say, I walked out of the store with a shiny new copy of SuSE 7.1 _PROFESSIONAL_ edition. <g> Anyway, I haven't installed it yet, although I'm hoping to perhaps have time to try it tonight on my desktop, and on my Inspiron 5000e notebook later this week when my new PC Card NIC comes in. So far it looks good - I like the new manuals they look quite good, and I'm anxious to try the DVD install. Hey, and the stickers and pin are nice too. ;-) -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. Butler Universal Networks Information Tech. I can believe it. What can be better than a new toy? ;-) -Kastus On Mon, Feb 26, 2001 at 05:36:30PM -0600, Timothy R. Butler wrote:

Hi Kastus,
I can believe it. What can be better than a new toy? ;-)
I can't agree more. For the most part 7.1 seems good too - a few problems though (see my next e-mail, coming soon). Hey I "had a lot of fun" though. -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. You shop the way I do, Tim! Did it start at an early age (BC - before computers) with trips to Radio Shack? Let me give you a rationalization: Think of the phone charges you'll save because everthing you want is on one of the CDs. How's that? ;-) JLK On Monday 26 February 2001 17:36, you wrote:

Hi Jerry,
You shop the way I do, Tim!

Well, I've used computers for ages (since the TI 99/4A), but yeah, I guess I've always been like that. <g> Computers only worsen the symptoms... ;-)
Let me give you a rationalization: Think of the phone charges you'll save because everthing you want is on one of the CDs.
Very true.
How's that? ;-)
I like that. Hey, and if I figure $20/hour x the amount of hours I would sit there drooling waiting for the download to finish... I just saved hundreds. Hmm... maybe I should buy every version of SuSE that comes out each year - I'd be a millionaire within a couple of years with all the money I'd save!!!! <g> -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R.
