'm running SuSE 9.2 as my main OS. I've been experimenting with Slackware 10.1 as an alternative, dual booting the two. My problem is that however I set up X in Slack it always produces a screen that is off set, ie a gap down the right hand side. Using the monitor's controls I can adjust that but when I go back to SuSE the screen defaults to the Slackware settings, Comparing the two x config files I have the same values for the monitor. Is there a tool I can use to fix this ? Thanks Mike

Slackware has a different way of setting up X for use and you might want to either use Vim and do it manually, or you could use xf86config, but after 10.0 I believe there is another way for X.org. I've never set it up this way as generally X just works for my on Slackware with no configuration.
Thanks
Mike

Thanks. I've tried (with Slackware) Xorgsetup, xorgconfig and xorgcfg. Always the same result. The settings for the monitor I've used the same for both SuSE and Slackware. Anyway not to worry as I've stopped experimenting with Slackware for other reasons which are much more appropriate to a Slackware list.
