Thanks. That's what I wanted. I even did not notice that "mixer" is a clickable button. I thought it was the name of the application.
LOL. Just like so many other tools and applications, eh?
Well, I got used to KDE3. You probably know too that in KDE3 if you left click on the system tray volume icon you get the volume bar just upper the system tray, and if you right click on it you get the context menu. In context menu the top line says "Kmix" and it is not clickable. I just thought that in KDE4 the "Mixer" line replaces this line and I did not try to click it. And in KDE3 if you click in the context menu "show mixer window" it opens the volume manager in a window. I expected this to occur in KDE4 but it showed the mixer bar at the left upper corner instead. I did not know how to open the kmix window. You explained it, thanks for it. (In the meantime I realized that KDE3 kmix also shows the "mixer" line in the volume bar when you left click the system tray button. As I barely use kmix in KDE3 (I prefer KAMix) I did not remember this.
Now I don't see what the right click > show mixer window option is good for at all. What is the purpose of putting that thing at the left upper corner after clicking in the right lower corner? What is it good for?
As far as I can see, if you
... Right click it appears on the top left No. It gives the context menu which is expected. In the context menu there is a line saying: "Show Mixer Window". Clicking on this the volume bar is opened in the upper left corner. For me mixer window looks like this: http://i56.tinypic.com/mqbll.jpg Clicking "show mixer window" opens the volume bar which is definitely not the mixer window; that is the line saying "show mixer window" is misleading. As I see no logic behind
[snip] putting a volume bar into the upper left corner after clicking in the right lower corner, I thought that this is not the normal behavior. If this is the normal behavior then the clickable line should be changed according to this. Not?
and Left click it appears on the bottom right Correct and expected.
That seems logical enough to me :-)
[and if you middle click the icon changes size :-) ]
Yes, since mute, unmute, and the icon reflects this change. That is nice. Thanks for your help again, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
