KDE 3.4 looks nice and appears to run well for me so far with one exception...I can't launch gnome apps from the KDE menu. What I mean is that since upgrading, I continue to be able to launch KDE apps like Kopete and Kontact from the KDE menu, but gnome apps like Evolution and Firefox do not launch when selected from the menu. I *can* launch them from the Konsole, but not from the menu. Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas how I might fix this behavior? Thanks.

Have you looked at the executable's location via kmenuedit? -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

Yes, should have mentioned that was one of the first things that I checked. The executable paths appear fine and using them in Konsole launches the app. Just can't do it from the KDE menu itself. -- Cheers, Trey ---- You could get a new lease on life -- if only you didn't need the first and last month in advance. I had the exact same behaviour. It all sorted itself out though when I installed the most recent daily build. Of course a new problem popped up - the System Tray blinks now... on an annoying one second blink. But... well that comes with the territory when you wanna play with the latest builds :-)

I get the ones from the APT repositories... they usually work quite well. which repository do you use? It hasn't appeared on any I'm looking at as yet as far as I can see. I'm using Hit ftp://ftp.gwdg.de SuSE/9.0-i386/kde pkglist Hit ftp://ftp.gwdg.de SuSE/9.0-i386/kde release

Try adding kde-unstable to your repository list. The KDE you're looking for is there: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.0-i386/RPMS.kde-unstable/
