Verschwindet das Phänomen nicht, so entfernen Sie bitte die Datei .configured2 manuell: rm /usr/lib/YaST/.configured2 Für diese Datei ist /lib/YaST/bootsetup zuständig. rough translation: give your machine enough time to finish [you did]. Watch console 9 (Alt F)) [you did that, too]. If all fails remove /usr/lib/YaST/.configured2. I interprete the last sentence that this file was created by /lib/Yast/bootsetup. bootsetup is the script, which will be started at boottime, if /usr/lib/YaST/.configured2 exists. So it's OK to remove .configured2 to get rid of the 'YaST' phenomen... Does Suse 5.2 come with the Libc5 or the newer Libc6? As I understand it the newer programs require libc6. Thanks, Tom -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

According to what I've found, SuSE 5.2 uses libc5; if I understand correctly, SuSE 6.0 is when this particular distribution will begin using libc6. However, I should note, that most programs that I've downloaded can be compiled with libc5. What you primarily need to watch out for are rpms that are freshly made, since, most the time, they're compiled for RedHat 5.0, which uses libc6. Most sites, though, will tell you in advance if they have a libc5 version of the rpm. Thanks a bunch, Danke Bobo,Wolfgang,Pascal(for trying :P). It looks like it took care of the problem, (removing .configured2) Yes I do have room left on the partition 300Megs or so on a 1.2 gig that I donated to the school along with a 24x speed cd rom. This all went onto a HP-DX33 with 8 2Meg Ram chips and 512 vram for Video which used to have 2 hds 100Meg and another with 120Megs that had windows95 and MS-Visual C++...but no more!! Thanks to me. Well a few admins at school say it(Linux) looks intresting enough to maybe upgrade the computer I have put it on too!! an Intel PII!!!! Hey looks like I put a good foot in the door to give Linux a voice in my school. Maybe in the near future I will be (or they) will put up a few more Linux Boxes in my school.
