Hi, I've read the previous threads on this, and that's gotten me closer to burning a data CD. (I haven't tried anything else yet.) I ran KonCD as root and added some users to the KonCD setup, and saved some paths (though cdrdao, mpg123, and ogg123 didn't exist for me, so I just set the paths to /usr/bin for those). My regular users are also members of the disk group. Now, as a regular user, KonCD complains on startup about permissions still, asking me if I trust my users, asks for the root password, but it runs. Then I can get through the whole process of reading a CD, and it asks me to change the disc (I have only one CD-drive, the CD-RW drive) but when I put in a blank CDR and click OK I get the following error:
Cdrecord 1.11a19 (i686-suse-linux) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jörg Schilling TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM /usr/bin/cdrecord: Invalid argument. shmget failed
Error, Exit status: 22
Here's some info on my setup: brian@suse:~> l /dev/cdrecorder lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 27 20:19 /dev/cdrecorder -> /dev/sr0 brian@suse:~> l /dev/cdrom lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 May 11 18:39 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/sr0 Glad to provide other info if someone has an idea what sort of info would be helpful. Thanks for any insight into this problem. -- Brian Support EFF! http://www.eff.org/ They're defending YOUR rights online.
