I may not know much, but I make up for it in perseverance. Got it working (moneydance). In case anyone else has had a problem, I used jdk1.1.7 instead of jre1.1.7 in the path to my java executable. Thanks again for your help, Jerry, I don't know why our systems would require something different, but there must be some subtle differences.
