Help with error message installing on Notebook
I am installing Suse 10.1 and get through all the various settings. Immediately when the partitioning begins I get the following error message: System error code 3027 The installation progress bar shows the following that it is attempting to do: shrinking partition/dev/hda1 to 32.3GB Thanks for any help. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Help-with-error-message-installing-on-Notebook-tf24113... I had the same problem with my new HP laptop. I tried it twice with that message. I finally used Partition Magic to shrink the partition and get the remaining space ready for 10.1 to install. This worked for me. About a month a go there was a big disucssion on this and others recommended alternatives to Parition Magic which worked for them. Here is a cutout from that thread I saved for posterity. Partition magic worked. I had the same issue on a DELL laptop. I found the gpart Live-CD to work however, so just shrink your partition with this tool and then continue with SUSE installation. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php Also QTParted is a recommended Partition Magic Clone and works well.
Thanks a lot man I'll give it a go. Robert Lewis-3 wrote:
