I can't say I've noticed a slowdown on either the upgrade to my laptop or a new build on another box. "df" and /etc/fstab should tell you what the /data? directories/partitions are, it's what SuSE calls any existing Linux partitions that are not swap or part of the root install. what are those /data1 directory?

Just check /etc/fstab for the drive/partition that will be mounted if you invoke "mount /dataX" And, no, mine seems to as fast, if not, in my mind, an little faster. Terence

Right - so if you want to access these at any time just do "mount /data1" or whatever partition number you want! Cool, huh? What I normally do is change the mount points to something indicating the partition's usage (SuSE 8.2, for example, on hda1) such as "/slinuxa1", and edit /etc/fstab by hand. Here, you may wsih to use, again for example, "/rhhdc". HTH, Terence

I was running 8.0 and noticed especially on older PCs, 9.0 definitely is slower for me.
