I have a Voodoo 3 2000, p11300 and 196 mb ram. I have installed SuSE 7.1 pro and configured X with sax2, resolution 1024x768 @ i6 bit. I have set the card to use 3d acceleration and run 3Ddiag which tells me verything is OK.
I've got the same problems with SuSE 7.1...... I'm very interested what to do with this..... I had a smooth runing SuSE 6.4 system, since the clean install of 7.1 I've got the feeling that i'm working a windows machine: dissapearing SCSI cd rom drive, major problems with XFree 4.0.2 and compile problems with kernel......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty steamed about this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......... michael norman wrote:

My problem is that games such as Tux AGFH, Xracer and the programm ssystem will not run fullscreen.
Using 7.0 I could achieve that by installing the relevant 3d packages (glide_v3, mesa, mesa3dfx, dev3dfx, glidesdk) setting an alternative resolution of 640x480 and setting MESA_GLX_FX=fullscreen.
I have tried this with 7.1 using sax but the screen I get is distorted at the edges and even with that I got all sorts of errors trying to run the programmes. It seems to me that xfree 3.3.6 isn't particularly useable for 7.1 and I want to use xfree 4.02 anyway..
I have in 7.1 glidedri and mesa installed from the 3d packages, should I install any others ?
640x480 is listed as one of the available resolutions by sax2, do I need to do anything else to get the programmes that need it to see that its there ?
Is there anything else I can try to get these things running ?
Any suggestions gratefully received, I've been playing around with this for a week or so and its driving me mad. Otherwise 7.1 is the best I,ve ever used, its quite awesome.
Thanks
Mike
