Initrc & initial ramdisk size.
I'm trying to set up a 2.4.17 kernel (SuSE8.0) to my understanding one has to run mkinitrc in order to creat a initrc ram disk to load my reiserfs module. I did this but I get a kmod failure to load the module on boot. Thus a kernel panic. I'm wondering if this has to do with my initial ram disk size which is set to defaul 4096. would this perhaps be the reason it wont load the module ? How are you setting up the the initial ram disk? After installing your new kernel, you need to run (as root) "mk_initrd" followed by "/sbin/lilo" David
