Hi! I am having trouble with lm_sensors. My hardware: SOYO Dragon Plus motherboard AMD XP 1700+ cpu My software: dualbooting windows98SE / SuSE Linux 7.3 (linux kernel 2.4.10-4GB) I am using the MBM5 program in win, and i get temperatures / fanspeeds without problems. I am not sure how to get the lm_sensors package to work for me though. I have read the docs and tried to follow the config steps but lm_sensors aren't detecting any sensors. Maybe my motherboard simply is not supported yet! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Best regards, /Diffuze -- / Tina "diffuze" Johnsson Homepage: www.diffuze.com

I have no idea what the problem is, but lack of motherboard support seems an unlikely cause if the sensors work under Windows. Paul
The version included with SuSE 8.0 is 2.6.0. I found out yesterday that it is too old for the chipset on my motherboard. The current version on is 2.6.3 and can be downloaded at: http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/download.html The change log can be found at: http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/lm_sensors2/CHANGES That was going to be one of my weekend projects. Note that the RPM lon the site are for Red Hat/Mandarke and will have to be reworked for SuSE so the tarballs are a better download. pben On Friday 05 July 2002 11:05 am, Diffuze wrote:

Hi, I got it working! I upgraded my kernel to 2.4.16 and downloaded the cvs version of lm_sensors. After searching the net and tweaking the sensors.conf file I managed to get correct output. I will make the sensors.conf file accessible from my webpage, hopefully tomorrow, if anyone with my motherboard needs it.
