I was wondering if there was an equivalent program to rdate on SuSE linux. Rdate sets the date of your machine to that of a remote machine. I have seen it on other Linux distributions but not on SuSE.
Investigate ntpdate .. Cliff

I've never been able to get xntp/ntpdate working properly. I just use rdate which does the job perfectly well. I run it four times a day from the cron and I'm happy with it. I don't think it would harm the SuSE distribution to provide this great little program on the CDs.
Sean.
