I tried to understand but they seem identical. Is one a fork? Why was it forked then? Because both claim to do the very same thing AFAIU.

Did you look at last release dates of both projects?

Where do you see it? I do not see proxychains either in Leap 42.1 or on s.o.o in general.

proxychains = packman proxychains-ng = Leap Before you say the obvious: it is not in the official repo.
