[opensuse] why doesn't thunderbird show attached .vcf file?
Hi, Because I was too lazy to enable an ssh session to my mobile phone I just sent the .vcf backup file from my mobile per email. But thunderbird doesn't show the attachement. It shows just the email and no hint nowhere that there is an attachment. But when looking at the source of the email it is there: ---- User-Agent: K-9 Mail for Android MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="----GANDZVJ04IYVOJZQO0M5J1R86QKS9R" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: vcf To: Daniel Bauer ...com From: Daniel Bauer ...ch Message-ID: <E...@..ch> ------GANDZVJ04IYVOJZQO0M5J1R86QKS9R Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="----TUF0ZBU2ZS5FHN00LC1QBVD9HEDRPI" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit ------TUF0ZBU2ZS5FHN00LC1QBVD9HEDRPI Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable --=20 Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail=2E Please excuse my brevity=2E ------TUF0ZBU2ZS5FHN00LC1QBVD9HEDRPI Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
--
Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail=2E Please excuse my br= evity=2E ------TUF0ZBU2ZS5FHN00LC1QBVD9HEDRPI-- ------GANDZVJ04IYVOJZQO0M5J1R86QKS9R Content-Type: text/x-vcard; name="Contacts.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Contacts.vcf"; size=376688 QkVHSU46Vk....... ---- I then zipped the file on the mobile and sent it again. The zip-file was shown normally as an attachment. Some file formats that seem like text are better to email archived as zip or whatever, so that the mail client (any mail client) treat them as binary.

Maybe tried to show as signature and failed. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
