I've downloaded the package
python-1.5.2-158.i386.rpm
from the SuSE 6.4 update site.
I'm installing it with rpm --freshen -vh python-1.5.2-158.i386.rpm
and get the following error:
python ####unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/lib/python: cpio: unlink failed - Bad file descriptor
it looks like the rpm file is corrupt. I've downloaded it a couple of times with the same error occuring so it's not a download problem, plus all the other rpm's install OK.
No, this was a packaging error on our side. IIRC, you have to install it with "--force".
