They work very well right now. Your issue has nothing to do with the processor in question. My advice: You have the exactly two crappiest, junkiest, cheapest, most incompatible brands of laptop you could possibly purchase for use with LINUX. Get an HP/Toshiba/Lenovo with Intel or Nvidia graphics and *always* an Intel wireless adapter [does Dell make a single model without the Broadcomm crap inside?].
