I can see that "rcpostfix start" starts it fine. That is not what I'm asking. I want to enable so that it starts automatically on every boot, without using YaST. I gave the appropriate command for the old systemV, but it does not work with the new systemd. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. It does work, it just doesn't take flag "-s" , only chkconfig <service name> [on|off] -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I've used chkconfig [as in "chkconfig postgresql on"] and it worked. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks. That goes to my cheatnotes.
Elanor:~ # systemctl enable postfix.service ln -s '/lib/systemd/system/postfix.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/postfix.service' Elanor:~ # chkconfig postfix Note: Forwarding request to 'systemctl is-enabled postfix.service'. enabled postfix on Elanor:~ #
It looks like the "chkconfig" compatibility layer is incomplete.

Ah, postfix. Duplicate of: Bug 727403 - systemd does not start postfix ? which was marked as solved time ago but the solution was not applied as an update. And I created: Bug 732934 - chkconfig service on|off does not work with systemd. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Mmh, looks like this should switch it on - please file a bug. Run systemctl enable postfix.service to enable it.
