[SuSE Linux] 100MHz-Motherboard Support ??
Hello, after having searched the Linux site database to no avail, I am wondering which 100MHz-Motherboards (SuperSockel 7) are supported by Linux v5.3. Especially the following boards are of interest to me: "Tyan Trinity (S1590S)", "DFI P5BV3+ ", "EPOX EP-5151MVP3E-M" Since my decision which MB to buy will be based on its support by Linux, I am grateful for *any* hint. Bye, Oliver. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Hi, I'm using a MSI (Microstar) ATX SuperSocket 7 MB with a AMD K6-2 3D-Now 300 and it works with no problem. There is'n special support for the new ALI 15xx chip (as there is for the old ALI 14xx) but I suppose that will come later... however it works anyway, Have Linux in stalled on a 3Gb Extended (logical) partition on a IBM Deskstar 10Gb Disk, with System Commander Deluxe 4.01 as boot manager. Hope this trow some light on your issue... Joakim Oliver Mulatz wrote:

Oliver, all I use at Cornell are Tyan MBO's and will NOT use any other! We have NO problems with them and SuSE. Ditto here. My son and I also have the VA-503+ running the K6-3D/300 chip with factory-attached, noisy fan. No problems once I got the on-board jumpers and BIOS settings figured out. Dear All, Slightly out of topic. I have burned a cd containing Linux files using the following conditions : -Joliet -Mode 1 not XA I forget to check the close disc /finalize disc, instead the default is executed that is close session. The CD is readable at cdrom reader but at a hard effort. The size is already 630 megs. How to finalize this disc ? Thanks - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

What software did you use to create this? You should use it and check it's options for finalizing. OTHERWISE: There are options for manipulating the toc in cdrecord. Look at man cdrecord. Get the latest version also. I can't gaurantee it will work, with extracting the unfinalized tocs, but it is as close as you'll get. Blank cd's are cheap, why not just try to copy the unfinished cd out to hard drive, and redo it? Get the following package and read the README. Title: create-a-cd Version: 2.00 Entered-date: 30May98 Description: tools and docs for reading and writing CDs Keywords: cd iso9660 toast cd-r cdda cdrecord cdda2wav Author: cidher@usa.net (Boris Lorenz) Primary-site: sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/disk-management/create-a-cd-1.01.tar.gz - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
